From 19 to 26 January 2013, a team of three IT experts from the UNODC Information Technology Service (ITS) in Vienna visited seven agencies in Abuja, six of which are anti-corruption agencies (ACA) that will be benefiting from the European Union (EU) funded Project "Support to Anti-Corruption in Nigeria" under the 10th European Development Fund. The agencies include the Nigeria Police Force (its Federal Criminal Investigation Department), Public Complaints Commission (PCC), Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU), Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), and Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering (SCUML). The purpose of the mission was to assess the ICT needs of each agency and to recommend suitable information systems (specialized "go" software and infrastructure) with a view to assist ACA to curb corruption in Nigeria.
